Contractors Health & Assessment Scheme. CHAS assesses health and safety
for all types of suppliers, contractors,
designers and consultants. The aim of the scheme is to save time and
resources by avoiding unnecessary duplication in the assessment of
the competence and health & safety compliance of potential suppliers.

register for pre-qualified contractors and consultants. Use of
Constructionline to identify suitable potential suppliers is recommended by the OGC Common Minimum

The Work at Height
Regulations 2005 (as amended) place duties on employers, the
self-employed, and any person who controls the work of others eg
facilities managers or building owners, who may contract others to work
at height
If you purchase INSTALLATION
of LEV you are a duty holder with mandatory legal responsibilities.
Extracts from the Regulations
that are especially relevant to any one arranging for an LEV installation
or LEV Maintenance are highlighted below.
The Regulations require duty
holders to ensure:
-
all
work at height is properly planned and organised;
-
all
those involved in work at height are trained and competent. This
includes involvement in organisation, planning, supervision, and the
supply and maintenance of access equipment.;
-
equipment for work at height is appropriately inspected;
-
the
risks from falling objects are properly controlled;
-
that
the work is properly planned, appropriately supervised, and carried out
in as safe a way as is reasonably practicable.
P&J’s
staff who work on site or plan site work are experienced, trained, and
certificated in Working Safely at Height.

Card (Powered Access Licence) is recognised worldwide across industries as
proof of platform operator training to the highest standard. It is issued
by the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) and conforms to the international standard ISO 18878:2004 Mobile
elevating work platforms – Operator (driver) training. |

at Height Regulations 2005, require that the assembly, dismantling or
alteration of Mobile Access Towers should only be undertaken by a
competent person.
